    1. This was a surprise treat. Psychologist Barbara Stark gets a lot more than she bargained for when she takes on two troubled married clients during a summer without her teenaged sons. Matters escalate between the clients and between the husband and Stark. Koch's knowledge of psychological issues and counseling techniques lend authority to the story, as Stark gently leads the wife to more empowerment at the same time as her own life gets more dangerous by the day. 2. If you want a cannot-put-it-down guilty pleasure in a quick reading mystery story, this is it. Margaret Koch's protagonist is a smart woman--a psychologist--who knows her stuff. So does Koch, who's years as a practicing psychologist lend authenticity to her fast-paced narrative. This is better than "Nancy Drew grows up," it is great fun. Koch is a new author publishing on Smashwords, I can't eager to read more of Koch's work!

    3. If you like the role of the psychiatrist on Law and Order--when he interects with a victim/suspect and tells the detectives what's really going on--this is the series for you. The protagonist is a therapist you'd want to have But it's more fun to read about her because then you get all the juicy scoop that your real therapist would never share. Some laugh out loud funny bits, too--how can you not snicker at someone's behavior being described as that of an "encephalitic parakeet"?

    4. A wonderfully in-depth look at the inner workings of the daily life of a psychologist. Koch ramps up the tension throughout the book to a nerve-wracking level and comes up with the perfect ending.

    5. Funny, entertaining liked the characters. Little bit of romance along with mystery. Some of the storyline is far fetched but the humour make up for it.
