    1. I was fortunate enough to "Adopt" Sue from the Adopt an Indie event through . What luck that I 'stumbled' onto Sue!This was a wonderful book. I didn't just read the book -- I lived it! It was a great way to peek into the complicated relationship of being a sister, from trying to measure up to the expectations that you think they have, to worrying about whether or not it truly is an unconditional relationship. You must have been spying on me and my sisters. Please, please, please write more books [...]

    2. Carving the light is one those wonderful stories I'm driven to read in one sitting. It's a tale of strength and healing through love and acceptance, and the bonds formed between four ordinary yet inspiring women. I well and truly soaked my handkerchief in the reading of it, but there are many smiles and chuckles contained therein as well. No sooner had I finished reading it than I started over again, and that to me is the sure sign of an engaging story. 10/10 to Ms Maynard. I very much look forw [...]

    3. I enjoyed this story of three sisters who endured a tragic event during their childhood.Ms Maynard allowed me to travel with the sisters, feel their painful experiences, and know the secrets they kept from each other. Through her writing I laughed, I cried, I cheered, and I pitied these girls as if I too was part of their family.I look forward to her future writings.

    4. I thought that this was a great book. It spoke from the heart and was a very true account of the feelings of guilt people can carry around with them. It is so true about the fact that if more people would talk about their feelings it would avoid so many misunderstandings. I would highly recommend this as a goodread.Delilah
