    1. A tabloid-y kind of book, lavishly illustrated with woodcuts, paintings, drawings and photographs of all kinds of pain, death and dismemberment. It fails to go into the reasons behind the gruesome punishments, and I saw a few inaccuracies. Best suited for the true gore junkie.

    2. I really didn't learn anyghing new from that book. I realize that I know entirely too much about various forms of torture, so you better think twice about getting on my bad side!
