    1. I received an advanced reader’s copy of this book from Giveaways and I’m so glad I did! After seeing Hamilton on Broadway a couple of years ago I, like the authors, wanted to know more about Eliza Schuyler Hamilton. Much to my chagrin, there really weren’t any books (historical or otherwise) about her. Eliza wanted to make sure that Alexander’s story was told and I was eagerly awaiting someone to tell hers. Stephanie Dray and Laura Kamoie did an excellent job doing just that. There have [...]

    2. I received a copy of this book through the giveaway program. This was the best book I have read in quite awhile. Some of my favorite books both fiction and nonfiction have to do with the Revolutionary War and its figures so this book already had that going for it. The characters in the book are so vivid and multi-faceted. I thoroughly enjoyed going along with Eliza's struggles to understand her complicated husband and their relationship. This is definitely a book that I'll read again.

    3. Thank you giveaways for an advanced copy of My Dear Hamilton.I do not hand out 5 star ratings often, but My Dear Hamilton deserves 5 stars - or more, it was my favorite book of the year! I was at first intimidated by the length - over 600 pages - but they just flew by when reading. I love how Stephanie Dray and Laura Kamoie makes history very interesting and real. They tell the story of Alexander Hamilton and the founding of the country through the eyes of his wife, Eliza. I LOVED this book - i [...]

    4. My Dear Hamilton is a powerful read. Authors Dray and Kamoie have once again written another seamless story about a significant woman whom history has long ignored. Elizabeth Schuyler Hamilton has been known as merely the wife of American giant Alexander Hamilton. This historical novel pulls her out of the shadows and gives her center stage. Her life spanned some of the most integral parts of early American history: the frontier, the Revolution, the building of the Republic, and the antebellum y [...]

    5. So excited to read this book! I've read all of Stephanie Dray's novels. I've just begun re-reading Lily of the Nile, in fact; I loved it that much. And now I hear she's written another novel about another one of my favorite historical characters? Color me ecstatic!Edit: And she liked my comment. I've died and gone to heaven!

    6. This was a wonderful and fascinating book. It’s called a novel, and I don’t know how much was true and how much was fiction. I imagine though that it is mostly true. Since I am not a history fanatic, I knew very little about the details of the Revolutionary War, and found a lot of new information. Definitely worth reading.

    7. Although it was a work of fiction, the authors did an excellent job of researching and depicting the life of this fascinating woman. Having read this, I'm anxious to read the book Hamilton to learn more of the man and the times.

    8. I received a copy of My Dear Hamilton from a Giveaway. I had read the author’s previous book, America’s First Daughter, and loved it so I was hoping for the same from this one. My Dead Hamilton did not disappoint. In fact, it exceeded my expectations. I loved every minute of it from beginning to end and could not put it down. There is nothing better than a great historical fiction novel about a strong female lead. I hope Stephanie and Laura continue to write such wonderful stories.

    9. I received an advanced copy of this book through the giveaway. I read The First Daughter by these authors and loved it. I was so excited to receive this book. It did not disappoint. I loved reading about Eliza Hamilton and how she was a part of the revolution as much as the men. I will say I was not as big a fan of Jefferson when I finished this book as I was when I finished these authors previous book!I'm excited to see what the come up with next!

    10. I received an advance reader copy of My Dear Hamilton from GoodReads. From the first page, I was hooked. There are very few books that hook me from the very first page and this was one of them. My Dear Hamilton tells the story of Eliza Hamilton and her overlooked place in history. This book covers every angle of her life, from standing by Alexander Hamilton during difficult times, to her life as a mother and sister along with being a silent writing partner with Alexander during his life. I’ve [...]

    11. My Dear Hamilton is both an intimate portrayal of the strength, courage, and grace of one of our nation’s founding mothers and the engrossing saga of the birth of a country. Richly detailed, beautifully written, and impressive in its scope and heart, this is historical fiction at its best!

    12. America's First Daughter is one of my favorite historical fictions and here Stepahnie Dray and Laura Komoie have out done themselves again. My Dear Hamilton is history, passion, politics rolled together to make an outstanding must read. Will be high on my hand selling list this spring!

    13. A few quick thoughts about this one:- I deeply appreciate that we're getting Eliza's perspective on the Hamilton narrative, and that this novel was written by women.- The modern tone of the writing put me off a bit.- I snapped up every Ann Rinaldi historical YA novel for several years in my teens, and this reminds me of an admittedly more dense version of these.- I've been marinading in Hamiltonland since October 2015 so I'm actually kind of over it at this point (not to detract from the histori [...]

    14. No Spoilers: As for the bookI loved it. I devoured it, all 600+ pages in a very short time. The authors seem to be consumate researchers. Their devotion to the 'real' story is evident. After all that research, they present it to us as a beautifully written story of history, intrique, betrayal, love and passion. It is historical fiction at its best, complete with authors' thoughts at the end. You can read my full review at fayeswordbasket/

    15. While it takes a few liberties with the historical record, My Dear Hamilton captures the spirit and character of Eliza Hamilton (and the revolutionary women that surrounded her) in admirable fashion. Fans of the Broadway musical will love this exploration of her life before, during, and after Alexander. Full review coming 3/28/2018!
