    1. This is a cute follow up to Dragon Consultant, in which the story has moved on five years and everything seems to be pretty much the same as where we left them after the first book – except that Lumie has grown a bit.I did enjoy this nice easy read, but I’m also a little disappointed too. Five years is a pretty big jump, both in terms of Mercury and Dane’s relationship and life with the kits, as well as the other plot concerning kidnapped dragons and stolen magic. I know it gives Lumie and [...]

    2. To start of this review I need to be honest and say this Novella was just not for me This book just dragged for me in parts so I really had a hard time finishing this I really did like the first book in this series so I was hoping to see more of the two MC's together to get a better feel for them as a couple. Well I just don't feel them together at all, for some reason these characters just did not connect with me. In other words I did like the characters in this series but I just did not feel l [...]

    3. 2.5 starsWasn't as good as the first book. I was looking forward to reading this series but now not so much anymore :(

    4. I accidentally tripped over this series last fall when the cover of book one caught my eye. So cute and it was on an urban fantasy with baby dragons. Curiosity got the better of me and then whoosh, I was in full-on swoon for a new to me author and series. I couldn't wait to get another go with Dane, Mercury, and the dragon kids.Book two picks up five years after book one. This was an interesting choice, but for me it felt like the events of book one were more recent save the fact that the guys a [...]

    5. The supernatural consultant, Dane, is back – and so are his partner, Mercury, and all their adopted dragon kits. The kits may be older now, but that doesn’t mean they are less likely to cause a mess or two. And with some of them teenagers, Dane and Mercury never know what to expect. Dane still runs his consultancy, now with the help of Nickel, an older water dragon kit with a definite talent for investigative work. Mercury has got a job with the FBSI and even though he is a simple analyst fo [...]

    6. 2.5 starsShort review only: I still loved the kits; but the rest, I was as detached as I was with the first book, with the couples or the mystery plot. I am going to pass the rest of the the books in the future, shall the series continues.

    7. Family of dragons funDane and Mercury are 5 years on and closer then ever with 7 growing dragon kits to deal with.Their also chasing up any lead to save anymore captured and tortured dragons. This is a good installment moving us through looking to help more dragons.

    9. Perfect for when I need a light tale grounded with tiny bits of darkness. No sex overload but they sure enjoyed themselves when they got the opportunity!part of a series and can be read as a stand alone but a lot of the character development will be missing missing.

    10. This book has turned me into a rampaging Moar Monster! Moar Moar Moar. The story has heated up and I can't wait to see where it goes from here

    11. I loved the book but felt that the time jump was a bit much. Loved the plot and I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

    12. Cons: Plot is still just okay; new partner can be frustrating; wish the main relationship was developed morePros: Adult dragon gets to do something besides recover from flu; new partner; dragons; possible het side pairings; dragon kitsFinal Thoughts: Still mostly okay, but I don't really feel like reading the next book even though that was the one I was looking forward to the most (like witches are cool) Maybe read later.

    13. Better Alright this is what I like to see in progressive writing styles. I really enjoyed the first book and this was an excellent step forward. It was a shaky start though as I personally don't like such huge gaps in timelines. But I will make an exception here. While I don't think it was necessary or even fit all that well, it atleast didn't detract from the story.A few new characters of interest and ones I' m surprised to find I really want to see more of.

    14. This was just ok. There wasn't a big improvement in quality from the first book and the plot still felt very rushed with many things feeling forced into the plot. I'm not a big fan of starting books with large time skips without some kind of prologue to quickly fill in some details that would be nice to know before rolling into chapter one. The premise and idea for the book is still interesting enough for me to keep going with this series and hope the next books show improvement.

    15. I absolutely adored the first book in this series, and this second story is a cute follow-up that definitely satisfied my craving for more. It’s been five years since the events in Dragon Consultant brought Dane and his dragon lover, Mercury together. Well…Dane, Mercury and a house full of rambunctious dragon kits. Dane is still kept busy as the top consultant for all things supernatural and Mercury has recently taken a job working for what is kind of the paranormal version of the FBI. Which [...]

    16. 3, 5 * (they really need to add half stars)I am a little disappointed the 2nd book in the series was again short but a little boring. It is 5 years later and we still don't get much of Dane and Mercury's relationship. I'm only reading this series for the cute dragons. I hope the next one will be better.

    17. Guys, I was so, so super excited about seeing this as a review book on NetGalley, you have no idea. I read the first one, Dragon Consultant, (link to that post here), and really enjoyed the entire set-up. With Dragon Deception, we are 5 years in the future, and Dane and Mercury are a set thing. The kids are all still there and crazy, and we get a few new characters, including Mercury's new work partner, Valerie, a tough and rather rude woman with hidden depths (and the ability to watch a small h [...]

    18. This is book 2 of a 2 book set. I don't know if there will be more. You need to read book one, though, Dragon Consultant, to be able to understand the characters and the situation in this book.Book 1, Dragon Consultant, was awesome. It was funny with a wonderful mystery and the characters came so alive, and I could not put it down. This book, though, didn't live up to the standard of the first one, sorry to say.Of course, the same characters are in it who are awesome and wonderful and I fell in [...]

    19. Dragon Deception by Mell Eight (MM/Romance/Para)A copy of this book was provided to me by Inked Rainbow Reads in exchange for an honest review.***3 STARS***Mercury and Dane are back in this 2nd installment of the Supernatural Consultant series, and of course their kits. It's been 5 years since the event of the first book and the couple are doing well, the kits growing up a little. They were cute as ever, specially Lumie. Still, it got to the point that Lumie was mentioned way too many times, shov [...]

    20. Again 3.5*This one starts 5 years after book one, so Lumie and Alloy are no longer babies - I loved Lumie as a baby but he's still a cutie and a key dragon. The air dragons are still missing and are the focus of the investigations.Quite a lot of action in this one with Mercury going into the field to catch a copycat of his Quicksilver activities. Dane is trying to hunt down a mother dragon and 3 kits. And once again Lumie is instrumental in bring all the threads together.I enjoyed the domesticit [...]

    21. Enjoyable piece of fantasy fluff - ideal for a holiday read on a place etc. This follows on as a second instalment of series of books whereby sadistic human government / elements are tracking down and torturing shape-shifting dragons for their own nefarious purposes. Our MC heroes and their merry band of kits are doing everything they can to stop them of course. There's a good balance of action, family-life drama and M-M action in the bedroom.

    22. I love these stories I really do, but that said I can't help feeling frustrated with them too. These have so much potential that seems to be wasted on quick and easy light reading. There is little depth to them and for me a lot of inconsistencies with the Dragons and kits. But as long as I read them knowing they are light and fluffy then I guess I'll have to be content with the lack of details.

    23. Such a cute little story. I messed up and thought it was being released on the 12 of February. Imagine my surprise when I double-checked yesterday to find that it had already been released! I hope Mell Eight is not done with this series!
