    1. Move over Hunger Games and Divergent Emerge series is here. Heather Sunseri writes suspenseful young adult that keeps you on the edge of your seat and wanting more. Uprising is a young adult scifi that keeps you turning the pages for more. I loved the way the story goes back and forth between Cricket and West. There are plenty of surprises in this story and you will want to read the whole series. If you like this genre, don't miss this series!

    2. Emerge by Heather Sunseri introduces us to a world nearly decimated by the frightening Bad Sam virus. The recent Ebola outbreak is a reminder of how realistic Sunseri’s vision of the world could be. Uprising continues the story of Cricket and West. Bad Sam is back and threatening the way of life both inside and outside the walls of New Caelum. Once you start reading Uprising, you will find yourself cheering on Cricket and West while completely immersed in the surprises that are literally aroun [...]

    3. This was a well written sequel to emerge. I really enjoyed that even though it picked up from where the first book concluded, the flashbacks were not excessively rewritten but you'd still get the gist of what previously happened. I especially liked that cricket was strong-willed, resourceful, an independent thinker, brave and selfless. I even found myself silently cheering them on as she and west approached the new caelum leaders at the gala. I would've liked to have seen the look on annalise's [...]

    4. Sometimes the Sequels are BetterI bought this book after receiving the first one in hopes i would read it and leave a review. I did and gave it only 3 stars. The sequel definitely earned an additional star! It ended abruptly in a promise of a better world but the struggle and all the conflicts along the way to get there was well worth my time in reading it. Now on to Book 3 in hopes it's as 5 star as all the In Darkness series are to me.

    5. Quick read, good continuation Easily continues the story, not enough detail to really envision the closed off city. Characters are strong, not clear where story in going from n book 3

    6. Loved it!Loved it! Great series! A page turner. Great characters and strong willed. Could not put this book down. Ready for the next one

    7. Picking up where the first left off, this second book of the Emerge series is another well done, exciting book. Once again, I read it in one day (during the day instead of the middle of the night this time), only putting it down when I had to (since things like feeding and educating my kids do take priority over reading for pleasure). The struggle within Cricket between her brain and her heart is very realistic and well written. I highly recommend Uprising to young adult and dystopian fans (but [...]

    8. I really like the way the author keeps you engaged and following the story while still keeping you guessing. I also appreciate the growth of the charcters. even when the characters do something that would have been out of character pages before, you can see the steps that it took them to change their position. I never felt like the characters simply shifted the way they were to fit in a story line.

    9. Amazing story!I couldn't get enough of this book. I love the characters and the story line. It is amazing how the author twists the story line just when you think you may have an idea of what is going to happen. I felt like I shared every emotion the characters experienced because they were so well developed. I enjoyed each and every character in this book. This book is like riding a roller coaster!

    10. This series one of the best!I have been captured by the characters in this story. I care so much about them. I can see them, feel them, feel their happiness, joy and pain. Cricket, aka Christina Black and her love West are so right for each other and for their world's and the world to come. I can't wait for the third book in the series, Renaissance. Heather Sunseri has become one of my all-time favorite authors. Keep them coming, please!

    11. The Bad Sam epidemic has been stopped, but the city still holds the virus over the outside world. More politics and layers of the story emerge. I like the intrigue but the romance is a bot over the top. It feels like this book could have ended the series so I am interested to see where it goes in book three.

    12. Fantastic!!!This series is great! Characters are so believable and the story is a great one. The first book was good, this one started slow but caught up quickly. I LOVE that Sunseri didn't feel the need to retell the stories from the first book.

    13. The 2nd book in this series definitely did not disappoint. I truly was not able to put it down during any moment I had a free minute. Can't wait to see what lies ahead for Cricket and West in Book 3!

    14. Great series so far!I loved the mindspeak series so I was excited to try this series and I have not been disappointed. I love how Crickets character has developed.

    15. I read this in two days. Excellent continuation of Emerge. I could easily stop here, the story has a nice conclusion, but I'm invested in these characters and can't wait to read more. On to book 3!
