    1. My reviews of the first two books in this series are similar, this one remains the same. I liked the characters and the setting but those inner dialogues! By the time I got to this book (I'm reading all 3 books back to back) I started just skipping the inner dialogues and quite frankly I don't think I missed much of the story. I like this author's characters and story lines, it will take some consideration whether or not I continue to read her books. It's not a bad style of writing, I can see ho [...]

    2. Title: Sandpiper IslandAuthor: Donna KauffmanPublisher: KensingtonSeries: Bachelors of Blueberry Cove # 3Reviewed By: Arlena DeanRating: 4.5Review:"Sandpiper Island" by Donna KauffmanBook Description.Ford Maddox was running from his past when he came back to Blueberry Cove, Maine, where he'd tasted both heartache and comfort. With feisty Delia O'Reilly there to cheer him on, he couldn't have picked a better place to start over—even if he's determined to do it alone in his island tree house, wo [...]

    3. I received a copy of this book for review from NetGalley .Ford works for a conservation project - ensuring that the breeding birds get the best chance at survival. He has constructed a WONDERFUL sounding tree house complex with living quarters, offices and 'sick bays' for the birds.Dee runs the local diner that is in danger of closure because a yachting club wants the land it is built on. She receives an eviction notice and isn't sure where her future will lead her. She can't afford to take on t [...]

    4. I wanted to like this book. It seemed like a book I would like. Instead, I muddled through the first two chapters and then decided to put it down. For reference, I rarely stop in the middle of a book. Even if it's terrible. The writing in this book was pretty unbearable and I will not be reading this author again.

    5. I loved this story in this series of Blueberry Cove. Ford has issues he is trying to work through and with the help of family and friends of the small town he is learning how to cope. Delia has dealt with some tragic of her own but the small town helps her in getting her life back on track. It is a stand alone read so you don't need to read the first two in the series to enjoy Ford and Delia's story.

    6. This is the third in the Bachelors of Blueberry Cove and like the Brides and other Bachelors books I quite enjoyed it and all of the different characters. I did read the series is the wrong order as the Bachelors series comes first.

    7. Ford and DeliaThis was a great romance where two people who had known each other were relying only on themselves. When a situation occurs they eventually need to help each other.

    8. Best of the series. So much more took place than the first two books. Interesting characters, surprising story line. Good guys and bad guys (and girl).

    9. A must-read romance of the heart and spiritDon't be surprised to hear that I'm moving to Maine. Once again Donna Kauffman has written a siren song about a small coastal Maine town that has me jonesing not just for a vacation, but a life-changing move.If you're looking to lose yourself in a romance for a few hours, pick up the third book in Donna Kauffman's The Bachelors of Blueberry Cove series, Sandpiper Island. The only problem with this book is that after the last page is turned, I don't want [...]

    10. The book started out slow for me; but it soon picked up and I was hooked. The characters and the setting of the small Maine town were well done. Donna did a wonderful job in introducing new readers to this series to the local characters that live in Blueberry Cove. I have never been to Maine; but Donna's description of Blueberry Cove and the residents who lived there brought it to life for me.Ford and Delia are both in their 40's and I really enjoyed reading a story about a couple that is older [...]

    11. The book started out slow—I wondered whether I could ever become interested enough to read it all the way through. However, the story soon picked up. Both Ford and Delia are trying to forget the past, especially their own short past, when Ford brought Delia’s brother’s remains home from a military incursion that left her brother dead and Ford torn up inside, while trying to figure out where to go from here. Ford had returned to the area and runs a large migratory bird preserve. Dee is abou [...]

    12. I love Donna’s books and couldn’t wait to read about Ford and Delia. They have a past together and have chalked it up to one night that they were both helping each other through trying times in their lives. I like this book a lot better than Half Moon Harbor, because I thought that the book flowed a lot better and the descriptions weren’t as drawn out. Ford is ex-military and has seen and been through some tough times. He returned to Blueberry Cove and has kept to himself on Sandpiper Isla [...]

    13. Having previously read some of Donna Kauffman’s Bad Boy novellas, I was looking forward to reading this advanced copy received from Kensington Books via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Sandpiper Island is a part of Ms. Kauffman’s Bachelors of Blueberry Cove series, and the first one I’ve read. I’ll have to say that the first half of the book went a little slow for me. It had a little too much angst for my tastes. Ford Maddox is a strong character, but also very much a loner, [...]

    14. There is a smooth & easy flow to this story. It flows along like the waves on the coast. At times it’s larger than life, but in general, it’s beautiful & draws you to it. The wildlife and coastal scenery that Kauffman describes is absolutely breathtaking. The wildlife aspect of the novel was very intriguing. It definitely added an intellectual level to the novel that is rarely seen in contemporary romances , and made me appreciate it all the more. Kauffman also had my emotions engage [...]

    15. I won this book from a contest on .Forty-three year old Delia O'Reilly runs the very popular local diner in Blueberry Cove, Maine and has since her Grandmother passed away. The diner was not just Delia's livelihood, it was a part of her as much as her family before her who had established the diner and become a Cove landmark. But now Brooks Winstock who is from one of the oldest families in the Cove and has more money than God, has decided he wants the diner, or more to the point, the prime land [...]

    16. Sandpiper Island is a wonderful heart felt story of Delia and Ford. While their circumstances are different, they are both loners who find in the end that they fit nicely together. The progress of working through the rough exteriors and learning to accept help from each other added to the romance. In the real world, this progress takes time. I’m so glad that Ms. Kauffman did not try to rush that aspect of the story. I certainly enjoyed the Atlantic puffins rescue scene. However, I must admit t [...]

    17. I wish I had the last two books in this series to read first, but I dont think it took away from how great this book was. That's just a personal preference. I know that both Ford and Delia were introduced in past books, but I think the development of their character was done wholly in this book. In a nutshell (because I do not give away plots in reviews) we have a guy who comes back 'home' because a friend is in trouble. Cue storyline of growth from friendship to romance to love.I've been a Donn [...]

    18. Review featured on books-n-kisses3.75 Hearts I had a hard time with this story. It took a long time to connect with Ford. He is so stand-offish that it is hard to enjoy him. Yes he finally does warm up. Delia is sweet and I enjoyed her when we met her in the last story but she is so sad in this story. I am not sre the connection between the characters is there for most of the story. They spend a lot of time apologizing for what they say to each other because they never seem to say what they real [...]

    19. The saga continues in this quaint island town of quirky residents, with the story of Delia & Ford. Once decades ago they had a one night fling based on loss of a friend and brother, both needing someone right then. Settling into the area, Ford kind of avoids Delia, but when his sister messages him that Delia's in trouble of losing to a greedy developer, he comes running.Again, it was a cute sweet story of the townsfolk & the development of the relationship between these two, that was mea [...]

    20. *Received as an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review*This is the second book in the Blueberry Cove series I have read and I can't wait to get my hands on all of them. My curiosity about Ford and Delia was definitely sparked by Book 2 and I am glad to read their story. A shared past, painful and otherwise, is what binds these two together. They are now older, maybe somewhat wiser and definitely scarred. A crisis lures Ford back among people (instead of his birds) - and only because [...]

    21. I was given this book by the author (just because she's sweet). This was the third book in the Bachelors of Blueberry Cove series. It's the story of Ford and Delia, who comforted each other years ago when Ford accompanied Delia's brother's body back from a war zone. Years later Ford had come back to the area that Delia lived, but stayed isolated from her and everyone else on Sandpiper Island where he worked to save endangered seabirds. He comes back to Blueberry Cove to help Delia when her diner [...]

    22. I loved this book. It was the best one of the series. Ford who came out to the island to heal just stayed. Delia knew her roots were always in this town. Then the curveball was thrown. The land was sold our from under her restaurant. Grace told Ford they need to help Delia. This started the whole process. Blunt talking was done on both sides. Ford realized that Delia was home. He was going to have to make some changes. Delia always had a thing for Ford but closed herself off because she didn't w [...]

    23. A perfect example of a great romance story even with life's ups and down. No matter what life had thrown on Delia O'Reilly, she lifted her chin and faced it head on and by herself. She had known Ford Maddox a long time but felt she had no real chance with him since he withdrew from everyone and lived on Sandpiper Island mostly by himself. After us military service, Ford earned his PhD and worked with the record keeping and the safety of the migration of birds on the island. He knew this would ke [...]

    24. I won this book as a Giveaway.Although this is the third book in the Blueberry Cove Series, this is the first one that I have read. I fell in love with the elaborate treehouse Ford lived in and loved his avid conservation work. I felt attached to the quirky characters in the story and while not reading, I found myself thinking of them and about what would come next in the story. Always the sign of really good writing, to me. And now I wonder what is it come in the next book of the series.

    25. Love the story line here, love, birds, treehouse and a cove. Two loners who really don't know how to be anything but, break down their personal inflicted walls and start a relationship. They had feelings for each other but it took some determination to change (and Delia inviting herself to Ford's treehouse) At the same time they find they are not "alone" but they have the whole town behind them.wonderful love story with a lesson for us on seabirds.I will be reading the previous two books as I pac [...]

    26. Received as an ARC FirstRead from GoodReadsAh, Ford & Deliawhat a fantastic couple! I'd never read Donna Kauffman before, but I am now HOOKED! Her characters were witty and fun, and her storyline positively sizzled!Full of just the right amount of conflict and drama, balanced out with scintillating romance and a sigh-worthy ending. Does it get any better? Not for free it sure doesn't

    27. An enjoyable return to Blueberry Cove. Delia and Ford make the perfect couple, even if they are both super stubborn about it. It was exciting to watch Delia learn to trust Ford and to lean on him after being the strong one for so many others for so many years. The story was quite touching with a surprising ending. I do hope we will get to visit the cove again. I received a copy of this title from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review
