    1. Wow, I’m just blown away by how much I enjoyed this story. It was a great opposites attract story. Janiyah has had a crush on her brother’s best friend, Frederick (or as she calls him, Freddy), for the longest. When she was 17, she tried to give him her virginity, which ended disastrously. Since then, they made a nonverbal pact never to speak of the situation again. Freddy is an atypical hero. He’s 5 feet 10 (yes, a normal-sized hero) and a “boring” accountant, but there’s nothing bo [...]

    2. Awesome! I love the Henderson family. The brothers are so protective of their sister, Janiyah. But because of her creative personality, Janiyah comes across as impulsive and flighty. As a result, she feels disrespected. Frederick has loved Janiyah since they were young but he's seen what happens when a woman can twist her man around her little finger. Take his parents for example. His father is drowning in debt because he can't say no to Frederick's mother and her shopping addiction. They are ab [...]

    3. My first encounter with this author, and I have to say that it was a nice change to find a romance that featured African American characters that weren’t characterized by an urban theme or setting, and not overwhelmed with ‘street appropriate’ language. While there are several urban authors that I adore, I also want to see stories from the other perspectives, those stories from people who aren’t headline news but should be. A good romance feels real and solid, with characters that you ca [...]

    4. I have read all of Synithia Williams' books and have yet to be disappointed. She's a great writer and I love that her stories are about relatable characters dealing with real-life situations. I love that the drama never takes away from the romance. Just My Type is the story of Janiyah and Fredrick (Freddy as Janiyah calls him). Fredrick, who is about 4 years older than Janiyah, is her brother, Aaron's, best friend since they were kids. Janiyah has always been somewhere between infatuated and in [...]

    5. Just My Type was my first read by Synithia Williams and I must say I thoroughly enjoyed the story. Janiyah Henderson believes she has the ideal life after college. She works as a virtual assistant where she sets her own hours and spends her earnings freely. She feels she has accomplished the American dream, that of having very little responsibility and living across from her brother’s best friend. Her quest for independence is evident, however, she lacks the drive to obtain knowledge of curren [...]

    6. This review originally posted on thebookvixen atthebookvixen/2014/07/bWhy I Read This Book: Best friend’s brother/sister trope is a favorite of mine. In a Nutshell: I thought this story was okay. I have some issues with the heroine. The Set Up: Freddy and Janiyah have known each other since they were kids and currently live across the hall from each other. Their relationship becomes something more. What I Liked: I liked Freddy. I think he was trying to do what he thought was the right thing. H [...]

    7. This is my first read from this author, but it will not be my last.Fredrick & Janiyah have known each other since they were kids. When Janiyah was seventeen, she tried to lose her virginity to Fredrick, but he turned her down. Janiyah was heartbroken by his rejection and as the years passed by, she decided to keep her feelings for Fredrick hidden because she believed that they were not meant for each other & would be better off as friends, especially because they are nothing alike. Fredr [...]

    8. I loved this one! Janiyah and Frederick have known each other forever and are good friends, even living across the hall from one another. I love the alternating pov so you know what they're both thinking and how they see one another, because they are both clueless. It is fun that as the reader you know the whole story while they are each in the dark. It is great how they balance each other. At first glance they seem wrong for each other, but they actually complement one another very well. Freder [...]

    9. Janiyah has had a crush on Fredrick for years. As a teenager she acted on those feelings only to be shot down. Since then, she has been dating one guy after another. Each still hold a flame but neither acts on their feelings. Fredrick thinks that Janiyah has the potential to hold him down financially like his father is with his mother. Janiyah thinks that Fredrick only see her as a type of little sister. When they both can no longer hold up the facade of friendship the story really heats up. And [...]

    10. This was the perfect light romance! I've always been partial to stories where the H/H have a history and this book was no exception. The story was very well written with quite a few laugh out loud moments. Both Freddy and Janiyah were very likeable characters though Janiyah was my favorite. She had me cracking up with her antics and her "virtual assistant" job. :-) I look forward to reading more books by this author.

    11. This was a good read. I enjoyed the authors vivid descriptions, the sarcasm and friendly banter between characters, and the lightness of the read. I overall enjoyed the characters although the dialogue amongst characters seemed unbelievable at times. In the event of spoiling, I will not divulge details, but overall a good read.

    12. Hot and SexyThe relationship between the two main characters was very entertaining. Lifelong friends afraid to enter into a relationship for fear that it want last. Trying to fight the inevitable and realizing that you have no choice or control over your feelings. Very sexy and hot read extremely romantic

    13. Loved it! Although I found myself wanting to shake Freddy and Janiyah, the chemistry between them was great, and the love scenes were HOT! I liked that Freddy was 5'10, an accountant, and slightly nerdy; nice to see the 'regular' brothers get some love. Really cute love story with lots of heat. Don't miss it!Can't wait to see what's next from this author. Love her writing style!

    14. Merry go roundthis was an okay read. while I appreciate angst in relationships these two just got on my nerves. the storyline was awesome however I like to be a part of the happy ending after enduring the back and forward moments with the couple.

    15. This was a really great story. I especially enjoyed all the sexual tension between Janiyah and Fredrick. They were total opposites but they balanced each other out. Synithia has done it again!

    16. Good read I enjoyed this story. I enjoyed the way thus writer tells her story. It keeps you interested. You really want to read until the end.

    17. Not the best from this author. The conflict wasn't substantial enough to carry an entire novel. It needed more drama. Tolerable read, but nothing spectacular.

    18. First time reading this author and loved it. Really good love story. Looking forward toreading more from Synithia.

    19. Just my typeThis book was just my type of romance with a great story line, interesting characters, and steamy scenes. Will definitely be reading more from this author.
