    1. 4 stars!Waiting on the Sidelines is a difficult book for me to review. I had very mixed feelings about this one. There were parts I loved, and overall it had that unputdownable quality I love. ButThis book seriously made me ragey. So ragey in fact, I was venting to friends about it and giving my husband the death glare from across the room just for being a male. LOL. Only kidding- kind of… ;) I was infuriated with one of the characters throughout the book, but kudos to Ginger Scott for making [...]

    2. This is not the type of book I usually go for, but holly hell, am I glad I picked this one. I read NA genre mostly and this one is YA, so there's no smut in here ladies, it is simply beautiful coming of age love story. This book was one of my favorites this year so far. It had all the things I love in a good romance: friendship, love, angst, betrayal, heartbreak, bitterness, hatred, second chances, forgiveness, affection, tenderness, warmth I just could not put it down. The book is written in her [...]

    3. ”Why does he say one thing and do another?” This was me from the 50 percent mark till the endI really did enjoy the beginning of this story of young Nolan Lennox’s relationship with the star quarterback, Reed Johnson from their freshman year of high school into their freshman year of college. Nolan was adorable in the beginning but somewhere along the way I got tired of the round and round of their relationship and the slutty chick that just keeps showing up in some aspect or another…ugh [...]

    4. 3.5 FOUR YEARS OF CHANCES starsWaiting on the Sidelines my kindle forever. "ButI honestly have just got to get over this. I have spent half of my teenage yearshigh schoolpining after a stupid boy and letting the same girl walk all over me."WOTS spans the four years of high school. A lot of drama filled moments shape these years. The back and forth between being friends and lovers mixed with heart break and anger follow Reed and Nolan as they try to figure out what kind of relationship they are d [...]

    5. 4 Angst and Second Chance StarsI LOVE Ginger Scott books. When you read Ginger Scott books, you will get an epic story. I’m talking about, massive drama, big love and Heroes you love to hate. This will be an audio review of Waiting on the Sidelines. This is a standalone novel, however, there is a sequel which continues the story. In full disclosure I am not a fan of angst. It’s something I’m slowly working on and I think I am making progress. I am liking it a bit more because come on, as muc [...]

    6. The Plot. I thought that the idea for this story was great and couldn’t wait to see how the rest of the book would turn out. For me, the book was way too long and drawn out. It seemed that there was just a lot of fluff added in and that the book was unnecessarily long. There was no real plot that I could tell or else there was no real climax. This book had no point to it. I felt like I was reading this long book about a girl who conformed to society and never stood up for herself. This book ju [...]

    7. I was up late a couple nights ago and landed on this book which was free on . At first I thought I bet this book will be awful since it's freewell let me just say I WAS SO WRONG!!!This book is so good that I stayed up until 5 in the morning to finish it. I could not put it down. This story is about an awkward teenage girl who falls hard for her first crush but he only sees her as a friend. When he finally does notice herfe and other people get in the way. This book deals with real teen/high scho [...]

    8. (Source: I own a copy of this book.)15-year-old Nolan is starting her freshman year at high school, and has a crush on a junior quarterback called Reed. This is the story of Nolan and Reed. This book was so long! There was so much in there that didn’t need to be there, and I have to say that I lost interest pretty early on.Nolan was an okay character, but I didn’t love her. She overreacted at times, she expected too much, she had very little confidence in herself, she allowed herself to be wa [...]

    9. 3.5 starsI would rate this higher but it has something in it that I can't stand. The constant back and forth angsty drama was just too much for me. Don't get me wrong, I was totally engrossed in this book and I get that they're in high school. But, it just went too far and Reed definitely let me down a few times. I was totally Nolan in high school in the fact that I had a mad crush on a guy that was never timed right. She goes through too much for some if the stuff she puts up with. I will defin [...]

    10. Read more reviews at What Danielle Did NextI was in a reading slump of epic proportions when Ginger emailed me requesting a review of her book. I accepted despite my initial reaction being less than enthusiastic (JK Rowling could have announced a new Harry Potter book and my reaction would have been “eh”) but something about the premise intrigued me and I desperately hoped this book would pull me out of my slump. It did more than that…it touched my heart. From the first pages to the last li [...]

    11. Waiting on the Sidelines by Ginger Scott is one of those book you pick up and stick to it until the end; and that is exactly what I did. I started it in the morning lazing in bed on a Saturday, and ended it that same Saturday just as I started it in. The only difference was that instead of the sun streaming through my window it was the moonlight illuminating my room.As I read Nolan’s story I remembered a time when I was a young teenager same as her (Nolan,) dreaming about a certain boy, who ce [...]

I've had such good luck with them this year, wanted to end on a fab note for me while finding a new author/book that didn't cost me [...]

    13. 5 heartbreaking stars. I do not usually do the lists of my favorite books, but if I do Waiting on the Sidelines would probably be in top three indie books in 2013. Wow what a story.Waiting on the Sidelines is contemporary YA romance novel that contain all the usual elements of the genre, name it, it has it: cliques, popularity issues, young love, breakup and make ups, friendships, first sex, underage drinking, bullies, etc. It is also a big coming of the age story and unlike YA novels the author [...]

    14. 4.5 (But soooo close to 5) Stars!!First of all, I absolutely LOVE "young love"/"coming of age" romances. I have a real soft spot for second chance romances when the two MC have a long and complex history together, going all the way back to their childhood. I LOVE them and I can't get enough. Just so you know where I'm coming from.So obviously, I absolutely LOVED this one!! Ginger Scott writes so well and it is very clear that the characters in this book are very close to her heart. She weaved th [...]

    15. Wowwww!!!!! I could not put this book down. An amazing young adult love story!!!! I will definitely be following this author. Can't wait to read more from her. Her writing style is addictive. Now off to read book 2.:)

    16. Waiting On the Sidelines is another frustratingly angsty storyline from Ginger Scott that I just couldn't put down. I devoured this book. This was intense and emotional, the push and pull relentless. I didn't know whether to swoon or cry or scream on every single page. Ginger Scott knows how to pull a reader through the wringer with an angsty romance. This book sliced and diced my heart over and over and over again. I have never been SO happy to have a sequel to dive into right this minute becau [...]

    17. Wow, this book is bad. So bad. I don't even know where to start. So, the book covers approximately 4 years of Nolan's high school. Of course, when you have to cover such a long time (year by year) you'll end up writing a bad story. Everything is just mentioned. I feel as if there weren't any details or real descriptions. Just listing all that happened. That's horrible. Then we have Nolan. Main character. And she is also so bad. From the start we read how she was always a omboy but when you say To [...]

    18. This book was so frustrating for me.I love these type of stories where the popular guy falls for the average girl in high school. However, I did not believe or trust in the hero's "love" for heroine. (view spoiler)[The hero was a male slut. I mean he claims to love Nolan but given an opportunity he sleeps with some slut who is willing to offer it at a wink. There is no cheating, but it is sad how quickly he can say one thing to the heroine and then just be with another girl. Nolan is too quick t [...]

    19. I really loved this book! I loved NolanEven though I'm looking forward to book 2, I don't have a lot of faith in Reed :(

    20. This book was just ok for me, I liked the story line but I found that some parts of story were too long and unnecessary. Found myself skipping a bunch of pages just to get to the parts that I found relevant to the story. I did enjoy the female character as she had flaws and insecurities that were relatable.

    21. Ok. I've been ruminating on this for 3 days and I finally decided what I want to say about this book. AS A READER, I loved it. I loved it this much: You know why? Because it's verrrrrryyyyyy similar to Remember When. And I f-ing adored Remember When. It's solidly in my top 5 books of all time. I know it's possible for two people to have similar ideas independently. But guys, these books are SUPER similar in a lot of ways. I'm not going to say anything else, I'm just going to list the things I no [...]

    22. This was my first book by this author, and definitely isn't my last, and fact I've already read the second book in the series. This book followed Nolan and Reid through all 4 years of high school The book is told from Nolan's point of view, and it was so nice to see her growth from an awkward freshman to a confident senior. I liked the development of the relationship between these two Although at times I really did not like Reid. Although I thought he was a pretty typical teenage boy, especially [...]

    23. 3.5 starsI was very excited to read this book after reading This is Falling and You and Everything After. This book spans 4 years of high school. So definitely a YA book full of angst and the immaturity of a 14 year old. At some points I just wanted to reach into the book and shake these characters! What are you thinking? Open your eyes! The pace was a bit slow at times but I wad interested enough to keep turning the pages. It had me guessing about the HEA until 90 something percent - phew! Not [...]

    24. Four starsI couldn't put this down, but trust me when I say, there were several times I really wanted to. Reed, you can be such a dick sometimes. And Nolan? Doormat, much? Yes. I still gave this four stars only because my massochist self couldn't stop reading. Ugh. Something is wrong with me.

    25. My review:Well of course I loved this book. Nothing makes me happier than meeting a wonderful author and reading such a fantastic debut. I don't know how she did it but she DID! Nolan Lennox was like my little hero! The name, come on so cute, after a baseball legend.Reason for the love #1 is that Nolan was bullied! So for fans of The Real Housewives of Orange County TAKE notice Alexis, Nolan was bullied. Maybe reading the book will bring some awareness to the fact that girls are bitches. Me, wel [...]

    26. Long story short Nolan has liked Reed for a while and for some reason she always seemed to be waiting to be with him. Waiting for him to give her a chance. Waiting for him to fix himself so they can be together again. No matter what happens it always led back to to them finding each other again. But when an accident was caused, Nolan can feel Reed pulling way. The last straw was when Reed hit below the belt with pointing out something that Nolan was self-conscious about. Now it seems that their [...]

    27. 3 stars! On the 2nd or 3rd page, I got bored. That's not how you pull us (readers) in. I don't like the characters who says too much about where the heck she lives or where she shopsc. it's the 1st chapter, Info Overload!I like that she tried not to act like a love sick puppy and tried to have a relationship w/ Shane though I kinda felt bad for him.Reed is a sicko, he likes her and flirts with her but then he's back with that bitch! He was such an asshole! Yes, he was played by that sicko but sti [...]

    28. This book really annoyed me, I seriously & utterly HATE Reed. He was the worst high school hero I have ever read, he keeps breaking Nolan over & over & a million times over AGAIN, he was just down right cruel towards Nolan. To me he abused Nolan emotionally he took her for granted practically took her love & stomped on it so many fucking times because things were not going his way.And he didn't even give her a sincere apology, most of his apology was pure bullshit it's sort of li [...]

    29. I loved this story!! Waiting on the Sidelines is a coming of the age story about an awkward girl who fell in love with a the town's all star athlete. I connected to Nolan, I loved her awkward thinking, her inner monologue, her quick embarrassment to situations and her sincere ways. This story ticked all the boxes I enjoy in a good book - slow build to create the tension, first love and heartbreak, great characters, bitchy villains, sweet and swooning, as well as "my heart just sank" moments. Lov [...]
