    1. This was an interesting history of Macon GA during the Civil War period. I learned a lot about the significance of Macon's location. It was far enough in from the borders to be fairly safe from the major battles, thus Macon escaped having major damage done to it. It also became second only to Richmond for the number of hospitals after Atlanta fell. Very interesting read if you enjoy Civil War history.
