    1. Read this after Stonefather. I wouldn't have noticed it's the same basic world if I didn't see it listed with Stonefather here on . This is a very different story and reads more like a horror story of Lovecraft than fantasy. A good story in it's own right.

    2. Ok, this isn't very good. Nothing like the rest of the universe it supposedly takes place in. Don't bother chasing this down in Epic -- it's a waste of time, from a fine author. Complete throw away.

    3. An awesome short story, worth reading at least once. An interesting system of magic is used in the Mithermage Universe, and makes for a compelling read. If you like this, definitely check out stone father, another short by Card, based in the same world.

    4. This short story was available online and it is a precursor to his Mithermages series which he just started. Interesting story about how vengeance does no one any good.

    5. Billed as a prequel to the Mither Mages series, but the magic works a differently in this story. Not a bad little story, but kinda sad.

    6. Love the magic system of the mithermages, but this is a pretty hopeless short story. How much bad stuff can happen with this one guy?
