    1. 3.5* An entertaining fast paced novel. Colton Banyon, along with a talking ghost who is trying his best to guide him, is on a wild journey to locate a lost book with hidden secrets and codes. Packed with nonstop action, and a promising romance for the irresistible Colton Banyon. The story also touches on the atrocities of World War II which was disquieting to read, but describes how truly awful it was for many. Quite the ride!

    2. In A Dubious Secret, Colt Banyon and Loni Chen have started their own detective agency from the proceeds of the last book. They have a great friendship as well as working relationship. They truly compliment each other with their own personal strengths. They make the perfect team. Colton still has Wolf talking with him and the Nazi connection is still as strong as it was in A Dubious Mission. When they are both drawn into an auction of a recently discovered historically important book the events [...]

    3. Book #2, in the Colton Banyon MysteryThis is a series I have been reading out of sequence although this is definitely not the ideal way to understand the progress into the characters’ mind-set, I never felt cheated or lost not knowing what came previously. Each book is working quite well as stand- alone, so no worry if you pick up books out of sync. “A Dubious Secret” takes us on an adventure of a missing copy of Mein Kampf, the manifesto by Adolf Hitler. Once more Mr. Kubicki provided a p [...]

    4. I admit I was a bit skeptical concerning the premise of this book as I am not a fan of Nazi-related themes; however, i was pleasantly surprised with the storyline and characters. The story itself was interesting and fast-paced. While I had not read the previous book the story stood on its own and the allusions to the other story were more flavor than distraction. I did find the author's description of the female characters interesting, as they started out highly sexualized and rather shallow. Bu [...]

    5. Oh boy, this is a great book and I am looking forward to reading the other books in the "Dubious" series. This has mystery, intrigue, and romance. After the first few chapters I didn't want to put it down. It kept you guessing. The writing and plot was so well written that as I was reading it was as if a movie was playing in my head. If you like mystery this really a must read book or you will miss out on a wonderfully written book. Thanks Gerald you hit it on the mark with this series. Wonderfu [...]

    6. I received this book for free through First Reads. Not being familiar with this author or series, I was dubious about how entertaining it would be with a hero that hears voices and follows them. However, I plunged into it and I am glad I did. The plot has an interesting storyline and I liked the twist of Myra being the tough action figure, with a mystery about her, and Colt the brains of the team. The story has action, mystery, romance, twists and turns that can be seen and not seen as you read [...]

    7. A Dubious Secret was one of very few mysteries that I've read. From the beginning the story drew me in and it was hard to put down. I loved following the adventures of Colton Banyon all over the world in search of a book owner. The author has a way of inserting historical facts to where I actually learned things along the way without even realizing it. Great book for all you mystery lovers out there! I'll have to go back and read the first one now!!!
